Enrico Muscetra

The Italian artist Enrico Muscetra has a studio in Krakow, the city where he spends part of the year, and many of his works have been installed in the Maloposka region. Other works, representing "living monuments", have been installed in Italian cities and towns, like the "Monument to the Sea Urchin" in Gallipoli (Lecce - Italy), "Man with a great heart" in Martano (Lecce - Italy), the "Annunciation" in Aradeo (Lecce - Italy) and "Romeo and Juliet" installed in the very heart of Verona in 2012. One of his immaterial bronze angels rises in the middle of the Lanckorona Square. Wieliczka received another image of its patron saint, Saint Kinga, significantly differing from the classical statues, allowing viewers to interpret the very carving and its unusual shape.

Enrico Muscetra concentrates, in particular, on the effects of spirituality. The problem of the exclusion of the matter appears in many of his works, that is why his carvings are often pierced by intriguing empty spaces and gaps suggesting the total impossibility.
